Everton were easily overcome by Southampton this weekend.

Everton suffered yet another defeat as their season went from bad to worse this weekend, with Southampton running out 4-1 winners at St. Mary’s.
The Toffees were woeful and did not deserve to take anything from the clash, with Gylfi Sigurdsson’s consolation goal the only decent moment in a match their fans will want to forget as soon as possible.

Everton’s caretaker manager David Unsworth surely has no chance of keeping the position any longer than necessary following his side’s second capitulation in a week but it is up to the Toffees’ hierarchy to make a permanent appointment before their season gets even worse.
One Everton player who came in for plenty of criticism this weekend is Belgian winger Kevin Mirallas, who came in from the cold under Unsworth but who has done little to impress in that time.

Mirallas should be bossing games like that, using his pace to get the better of opposition defences and ensuring Everton’s oft-criticised attacking options have sufficient ammunition to feed off.
Unfortunately, on this evidence the 30-year-old is not the answer and it is hard to see him maintaining his place one a new manager is installed.
After the game we took to Twitter to see what Everton fans thought of Mirallas’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
