Everton lost 3-2 at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
Everton’s tricky season continued on Saturday afternoon with a 3-2 defeat away at Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Toffees managed to beat West Ham United 2-0 last weekend, and fans were hoping to start a strong run of form off the back of that result.
However, Marco Silva’s side reverted to type on the South Coast, with Pascal Gross hammering home a free kick in the first half, which appeared to be straight at Jordan Pickford but still found the net.
Adam Webster’s own goal had Everton level, and whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin put the Toffees in front, Brighton roared back, firstly with a Neal Maupay penalty before Lucas Digne put Leandro Trossard’s cross into his own net in injury time.
That result leaves Everton in 16th place, just two points clear of the relegation zone after six defeats in the last eight Premier League games.
Silva is under huge pressure, and fans are starting to become frustrated with a host of players, including goalkeeper Pickford.
The England international really should have saved the Gross free kick, with some fans feeling they’re not exactly getting great value for money from the 2017 signing, who cost £30million in 2017.
Some believe that Pickford was ‘disgraceful’ against Brighton and is becoming increasingly useless, with some even hoping that the club sign another goalkeeper in January to replace Pickford, as his poor form simply can’t continue with his place being in jeopardy.
