Everton managed to snatch a point from the jaws of defeat as they drew 1-1 with Aston Villa this evening.
The Toffees have been hugely disappointing of late, and they really needed a response following Sunday’s 3-0 thumping at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, Everton were flat once again, and struggled to create before Ezri Konsa put Villa in front for what looked like a precious victory for the visitors.
Everton did though grab a late leveller, with Theo Walcott rescuing a point for Carlo Ancelotti’s side near the death.
It won’t really be enough to appease fans though, as Everton will largely uninspiring and in desperate need of a boost.
There were some bright spots though, and the main one was the performance of defender Jarrad Braithwaite in the heart of Ancelotti’s back line.

Mason Holgate went off injured in the first half, and with Yerry Mina out too, 18-year-old Branthwaite was called upon to replace Holgate.
A January signing from League Two side Carlisle United, Branthwaite impressed this evening, and fans have been taking to Twitter to rave about the giant centre back.
Fans praised him as ‘immense’ and ‘Everton’s best player’, whilst even comparing him to ex-Everton defender John Stones.
Some believe that Branthwaite will save Everton big money, and that money should be spent on a new midfielder instead of a centre back.
