The outlet reckon that barring an administration problem or a dramatic reversal in intentions, the player will be playing his football in France next season.
The value of the potential deal is said to be €32m (£28.67m).
Gueye is one of the Toffees’ stand-out players but it has seemed inevitable in recent months that he could be set to move on for pastures new.
Everton will at least make a major profit on the deal, with the player reported by The Guardian in 2016 to have arrived at Goodison Park for just £7.1m.
A sustainable and positive transfer model is crucial for the club’s long-term ambitions and success so in some ways the alleged Gueye deal makes sense, especially at the age of 29, but he’ll still leave a big hole in Marco Silva’s team.
The Senegal international is a combative and robust midfield presence, providing the foundations for Everton to compete against most sides in the English Premier League.
His average of 4.3 tackles per game in the top-flight last season (WhoScored) was higher than anyone in the division, while his 2.2. interceptions per game (WhoScored) placed him in the top ten players on that metric.
Getting around the Toffees favourite was rarely easy and Silva will now apparently have to find a new man to fill that role, whether from within the squad or from the transfer market.
