Everton fans on Twitter have put their disappointment to one side to praise Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Toffees looked on course for their first away win of the season on Saturday, as goals from Theo Walcott and Michael Keane gave Marco Silva’s side a 2-0 lead at Bournemouth.

But the Cherries scored twice in the final 15 minutes to stun Everton and deny the visitors all three points.

There were a number of villains for Everton – including Leighton Baines, who gave away the clumsy penalty which led to Eddie Howe’s side getting back into the game.

But there were also some heroes and one of those was Sigurdsson.

The 28-year-old looks a different animal this season after a mixed first 12 months at Goodison Park side last term.

The Iceland international was comfortably the best player on the pitch yesterday and delivered the cross which led to Everton’s second.

And some fans of the Merseyside club are clearly delighted with his improvement:
