Everton handed Fabian Delph his debut on Wedneady night.

Everton’s pre-season preparations continued on Wednesday night, playing out a 0-0 draw away at Wigan Athletic.
The Toffees are ramping up their preparations for the new season, and Marco Silva will have been hoping for more goals last night.
Still, a clean sheet was a real positive for Silva, especially as he was missing star defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye ahead of his potential exit.
In his place, new signing Fabian Delph started in midfield, making his first appearance for the club since signing from Manchester City last week.
Delph, 29, may now be the favourite to replace Gueye in the Everton midfield to start the Premier League season, though a new signing may come in.
He got through 45 minutes in a strong performance, and Everton fans have been taking to Twitter to react to Delph’s performance at the DW Stadium.

Some praised his passing, believing he possesses a great range of distribution, and his ability to switch the play to Lucas Digne was ‘disgustingly good’.
Others thought Delph had a great game, both on the ball with his control of the game and off the ball with his leadership, with supporters clearly impressed.
