Everton fans have reacted to Diego Costa’s performance for Spain last night.

Everton fans on Twitter would love to see the club renew an interest in Diego Costa this summer.
The Spain striker scored twice in helping his country to a pulsating 3-3 draw against Portugal in their World Cup opener in Sochi last night.
The former Chelsea hitman, who was linked with Everton last summer, twice pegged back the Portuguese. First, he teased the opposition defence a number of times before rifling home the first equaliser, before scoring from point-blank range in the second half to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo’s second.
Costa, who joined Atletico Madrid for £57 million in September [The Telegraph], was linked with the Toffees for much of last August, with then-Everton boss Ronald Koeman admitting his interest [The Guardian].

Obviously the move never happened but after seeing the 29-year-old’s goalscoring ability last night, some fans of the Goodison Park club would love another move for him.
Costa helped Atletico to a Europa League title this past season and, with his contract expiring in 2021, the Madrid giants could demand a huge fee for him.
At 29, a striker who isn’t reliant on speed like Costa has many years left in the tank and although he would undoubtedly be great under Marco Silva on Merseyside, it’s very unlikely that it will materialise.
