Everton have one of the Premier League’s top left backs in Lucas Digne, but they may still need another option there.
Leighton Baines has announced his retirement after 13 years at the club, meaning a replacement could be targeted.
Niels Nkounkou has arrived from Marseille, but with no first-team experience to speak of, it may be a big ask to expect him to be the main cover for Digne.
Now, Sky Sports report that Everton have joined the race to sign Antonee Robinson, after Sheffield United had £2million bid accepted.
Everton sold Robinson to Wigan Athletic last summer, as the 23-year-old ended his 11-year association with the Toffees.
A speedy, attack-minded left back who can be signed on the cheap, Robinson does make sense for Everton – but Everton could still miss out.
The Daily Mail report that Fulham think they have won the race for Robinson, paying him a huge £45,000-a-week to make the move to West London and block a return to Goodison Park.

It’s unclear whether that is true, so Everton may still have a shot, and fans have been reacting to the rumours over the last couple of days.
Some believe that a left back isn’t a priority for Everton, as Nkounkou can cover for Digne if needed rather than bringing Robinson back.
Others ‘would love’ Robinson to join, believing that a move makes perfect sense because he would be cheap cover for Digne whilst having the talent to earn a profit in the future.
