Everton ended a disappointing run of form by beating Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane this evening.
The Toffees had lost at Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as drawing with Southampton and Aston Villa at Goodison Park.
Many expected Everton to lose on their trip to South Yorkshire, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side picked up a surprise 1-0 win.
Richarlison headed home Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cross to put Everton in front, and that was enough for the Toffees to claim the victory.
Ancelotti switched to a 4-2-3-1 system, and Everton turned in a better display than their recent struggles in the 4-4-2.
One of the best performances this evening came from midfielder Andre Gomes, who has been seeking his top form following his return from injury.

The Portuguese ace hasn’t been at his best in the 4-4-2, but was much better this evening – and drew praise from Everton fans on Twitter.
Fans called Gomes ‘excellent’ and believe he was ‘much better’ than he has been recently, and added that this was his ‘best game in a long time’.
