Everton are keen to sign a new right back before the transfer deadline, and they’re believed to be making a move for Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Seamus Coleman is still Everton’s first-choice right back at the moment, but Jonjoe Kenny isn’t exactly pushing him for that job.
Rafael Benitez would no doubt love another option in that area of the pitch, but strong links with Denzel Dumfries ultimately amounted to nothing.
Now, Sky Sports claim that Everton ware interested in signing Arsenal’s Maitland-Niles before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.
The Daily Mail add that Everton have now made an approach to Arsenal in the hope of bringing Maitland-Niles to Goodison Park.
Maitland-Niles excelled when football returned in 2020, helping Arsenal win the FA Cup before being convinced to stay at Arsenal and snub Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sadly, Mikel Arteta then decided to barely use Maitland-Niles, and loaned him out to West Bromwich Albion in January.

Maitland-Niles has often suggested that he would like to play in midfield, but it seems that he would be seen as a right back at Everton.
So what do Everton fans think of this rumour?
Some believe that Maitland-Niles is exactly what Everton need right now, praising him as mobile and good on the ball.
Others think that Maitland-Niles is better than what Everton already have, so he would make perfect sense as a stop-gap signing for Benitez and co.
