Everton beat Kenyan champions Gor Mahia 4-0 on Tuesday night.

Everton’s focus may have largely switched to this weekend’s trip to face Chelsea, but they were actually in action on Tuesday night as they hosted Gor Mahia at Goodison Park.
The Toffees beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, and whilst some fans immediately started to look towards Saturday’s trip to West London, there was a visit from Gor Mahia to contend with first.
The Kenyan champions headed to Goodison Park for the SportPesa Trophy, almost 18 months since Everton won the trophy by beating Gor Mahia 2-1, with Wayne Rooney on the scoresheet.
This time, Everton’s win was far more convincing, as they ran out 4-0 winners at Goodison Park, with Ademola Lookman and Kieran Dowell finding the net in the first half.
Nathan Broadhead and Oumar Niasse came off the bench in the second half to add goals too, with the game mostly used for fringe players to build up fitness after a lack of game time.

Lookman – an £11million signing from Charlton over 18 months ago – a was one player who really seized his opportunity in the side, scoring the opener and looking dangerous throughout, leading to huge praise from Everton fans both during and after the game.
Fans took to Twitter to suggest that Lookman is a ‘special talent’ having impressed on Tuesday, and called on Marco Silva to start him against Chelsea this weekend in place of Theo Walcott.
