Everton fans think Memphis Depay could be on his way to Goodison Park after Yannick Bolasie’s season-ending injury.
Everton confirmed on their official website on Monday that winger Yannick Bolasie requires knee surgery on a knee injury sustained against Manchester United on Sunday.
Bolasie, 27, joined Everton from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £25m over the summer (The Guardian), and was brought in to provide pace in Ronald Koeman’s side.

Whilst there have been doubts over Bolasie’s end product throughout his career, Bolasie struck up an instant rapport with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, and enjoyed a strong start to the campaign.
With one goal and four assists, Bolasie has been a dangerous player for Everton, and whilst consistencies have remained in his game, he has largely impressed for the Toffees so far.

However, Bolasie was taken off injured during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, and Everton’s worst fears have been confirmed, as Bolasie requires surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury, and will go under the knife this week, which will rule him out for the rest of the season.
Bolasie’s injury is a major blow to an Everton side who have struggled going forward of late, and gives Koeman a conundrum ahead of the Merseyside derby with Liverpool – a team Bolasie regularly thrives against.

Everton fans took to Twitter after the news broke, suggesting that he will be massively missed having been one of the club’s most creative players this season, with many noting that he will miss the Merseyside derby.
Other supporters predicted that Manchester United winger Memphis Depay will be targeted to replace Bolasie after Koeman confirmed his interest in the Dutchman to FOX Sports NL last month, with many urging Everton to spend money on a new wide man to replace Bolasie in January.
