The Toffees duo of Anthony Gordon and Ellis Simms did well and some fans think they’re ready for the Goodison Park first team.

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the Toffees Under-23s 2-1 victory over their Blackburn Rovers counterparts in the Premier League 2 first division at Goodison Park on Monday night.
David Unsworth’s charges remain unbeaten this league season thanks to the victory over the Lancashire side but it did come at a price as key players Morgan Feeney and Lewis Gibson had to come off in the second half due to injury.
After a lively start, the young Blues took the lead in the 21st minute as Gibson found himself free at the back post to convert a free kick from Antony Evans, but Joseph Rankin-Costello equalised from a corner after the break.
Ellis Simms came on in Gibson’s place and went on to strike the winner for the Goodison Park side, latching on to a superb defence-splitting through-ball by the prodigious Anthony Gordon before bearing down on goal and slotting home a clinical finish.
Here is what some Toffees fans said on social media regarding the win and the players who stood out for them:
Everton U23s now have two wins and three draws from the opening five matches of their Premier League 2 title defence, with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday up next.
