And there is a growing feeling around Goodison Park that Davies should be sent out on loan to gain first-team experience.
At Everton Davies has plenty of competition for a first-team place, with Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin and Mo Besic all aiming to be in Marco Silva’s starting line-up.
Davies played fairly frequently last term, but whether he will be given as many opportunities over the upcoming campaign remains to be seen.
If Everton did make Davies available for loan, it is likely there would be plenty of clubs willing to take him for a season.
