Everton lost their first game of the new season as they were beaten 2-0 away at Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, with Ronald Koeman’s men struggling at Stamford Bridge.
The Toffees had drawn 1-1 with Manchester City and Hajduk Split over the last week before heading to West London, but their unbeaten start to the campaign is now over.
Cesc Fabregas opened the scoring, turning home Alvaro Morata’s knockdown, before Morata made it 2-0 by heading home Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross from close range.

In truth, Everton never really troubled Chelsea, and looked lethargic having been travelling to and from Croatia just days earlier, with a number of players struggling to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
One such player who failed to impress was forward Sandro Ramirez, who arrived with high hopes having hit 14 goals in La Liga for Malaga, but has so far looked short of the mark.
The former Barcelona man had been nursing a heel injury, which kept him out of both legs against Hajduk Split and the Manchester City game, but returned to the starting line-up against Chelsea, only to struggle to get into the game and then squander his big chance when it came in the second half.

Everton fans took to Twitter to blast Sandro’s display, suggesting that he looks poor and off the pace, far from ready to be starting against Chelsea either due to his lack of adjustment to the Premier League or his lack of fitness.
Others even suggested that the Spaniard is worse than Oumar Niasse, though there were some fans who aren’t writing Sandro off just yet, given that he needs time to adapt to English football in a new-look Everton side still figuring things out this season.
