The 21-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder featured regularly in Germany last season, and was at the World Cup with Switzerland.
And Everton fans have been impressed with what they have seen from Zakaria so far.
Silva reportedly wants to play with a 4-3-3 formation next season that contains two defensive-minded midfielders.
Zakaria would be in competition with Idrissa Gueye, Tom Davies and Morgan Schnedierlin if he did move to Everton.
