West Ham United’s 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool on Saturday night has once again heaped the pressure on manager Slaven Bilic, with David Moyes potentially being lined up.

Mohamed Salah and Joel Matip had Liverpool 2-0 at up at the London Stadium, and whilst Manuel Lanzini pulled one back, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and another goal for Salah sealed a 4-1 win for the Reds.

It was another disastrous defensive display, and it’s clear that the miraculous Carabao Cup comeback against Tottenham Hotspur was a mere flash in the pan, with collapses against Crystal Palace and now Liverpool since then.

Bilic – whose contract expires at the end of the season – again finds himself under huge pressure, and BBC Sport claim that contact has already been made with David Moyes over replacing Bilic this week.

Moyes, 54, has been out of management since leaving Sunderland after their relegation to the Championship in May, but could now return to Premier League management in a short-term deal with the Hammers.

Having suffered relegation last season, Moyes is hardly a popular choice amongst West Ham fans, whilst Everton supporters have also had their say, given former and current links to the Scot.

Moyes took charge of Everton for 11 years following a 2002 move from Preston North End, leaving for Manchester United in 2013 – but his disastrous move to Old Trafford has seen him quickly lose jobs with the Red Devils, Real Sociedad and Sunderland.

Recent links have suggested that Moyes could be in the running to be the next Everton manager after Ronald Koeman’s exit, but fans took to Twitter to celebrate rumours of Moyes’ potential move to West Ham, with relief that he wouldn’t be heading to Goodison Park.

Others believe that it means Burnley boss Sean Dyche – strongly touted for Everton – may be heading elsewhere, with some even poking fun at West Ham by suggesting that Moyes will relegate them.
