Ross Barkley’s Everton career has taken another step towards a conclusion.
Ross Barkley’s Everton future has been plunged into further doubt after he was left off the club’s pre-season tour to Tanzania.
The Telegraph report Barkley was not included in the 25-man squad which made the trip, with a groin injury cited.
Barkley was pictured in training for Everton just two days ago.
Barkley’s future at Everton has been in doubt since he turned down the offer of a new contract earlier this year.
He has only one year remaining on his present deal, and has been linked with a move away throughout the summer, although no club have met Everton’s asking price.

Everton have already acted to secure a replacement for the 23-year-old, signing Davy Klaassen, while Wayne Rooney’s return also complicates Barkley’s chances.
Missing the pre-season trip alienates Barkley and will only add to his desire to quit the club this summer. If his fate was not sealed already, it appears to have been. It is just a question of where he will end up, rather than if he will go.
