Unai Emery has emerged as the new favourite for the Everton job after The Telegraph reported the Sevilla boss will hold talks over the vacancy.
Emery is a three time Europa League winner, and has been linked to Goodison Park after Roberto Martinez was fired earlier this month.
The report on Sunday stated Everton will hold talks with Emery in 72 hours, keen to explore if they can convince him to join the club.
The former Valencia boss would have to give up Champions League football next season to join Sevilla, after his side qualifed for the competition last week by beating Liverpool in the Europa League final.
Everton finished the season in 11th place in the Premier League, while Emery’s Sevilla claimed seventh in La Liga.
The money Iranian billionaire Farhad Mohsiri was recently invested in Everton could become a key factor in whether they stand a chance of convincing him to join and leave Seville.
