Everton defender Ramiro Funes-Mori suggested he wanted a return to Argentina back in January.

Everton supporters have generally sympathised with Ramiro Funes-Mori, after he suggested he wanted a loan to River Plate to cement his place in the Argentina squad for the World Cup.
Funes-Mori has not played for Everton all season due to injury, but he insists that he is fit again now.
Sam Allardyce has continued to overlook the Argentine in favour of his other options.

And Funes-Mori admits that he was hoping to return to his homeland to boost his chances of being in Russia.
“I wanted to go back to River Plate to get up to pace and get to the FIFA World Cup well, so I told my agent, but it was difficult, so it’s over and everything is fine,” the Argentine defender said to TYC Sports.
Everton fans have had a mixed response to the comments, but most Toffees fans are in agreement that Allardyce should give him a chance.
Funes-Mori could yet come back into Everton’s starting line-up before the end of the campaign.
However, he has only been given game time in Everton’s development squad recently.
Funes-Mori is currently in Argentina’s national squad for their upcoming friendly matches, despite his lack of action.
Everton are next in action in two weekends’ time, when they take on Manchester City at Goodison Park.
