Everton loanee had a game to forget for Hull City.
It is nearly exactly a year since Everton made the surprise big money move to sign Senegalese striker Oumar Niasse.
The 26-year-old failed to win a first team role at the Toffees, and did not impress new boss Ronald Koeman after the manager who signed him, Roberto Martinez, was fired at the end of last season.
Niasse was earlier this month sent out on loan to Hull City, and came off the bench in Sunday afternoon’s televised clash with league leaders Chelsea.
This gave Everton supporters a chance to check Niasse out in action, and they were not impressed, left feeling instead that the club have made the right decision in packing him off on loan, even if they did not make a good call by signing him in the first place.
Hull City’s Oumar Niasse comes on as a substitute
Niasse came on with just over half an hour to go at Stamford Bridge, with Hull very much in the game at 1-0 down at that point.
One of Niasse’s notable and unproductive contributions was a wild shot high into the stands, when he was outside the area out wide and it would have made more sense to cross the ball.
He had a less than glowing role in Chelsea extending their lead, appearing to duck out of the way as Gary Cahill rose to head home from close range.

Perhaps he’s rusty, perhaps just lacking in confidence, and the spell at Hull will eventually iron all of that out. But until that happens, Everton fans are convinced they bought a dud.
Here is a look at how they reacted to Niasse’s display for Hull…
