Everton defeated Stoke City on penalties in the Asia Trophy but what did Toffees fans think of Kevin Mirallas’s performance?
Everton and Stoke City played each other in the opening game of this year’s Asia Trophy and while the score was 0-0 after 90 minutes it was the Toffees who ultimately triumphed on penalties.
Everton won 5-4 in the shoot-out meaning they go through to the final of a competition that also includes Arsenal and a Singapore select XI.
The match saw plenty of Everton players get a chance to impress, with manager Roberto Martinez giving summer signings Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulofeu some minutes in the second half, with the Spaniard looking particularly bright.
Everton were the better side for much of the contest and in the first half their key player was Kevin Mirallas, who may not have got on the score-sheet but looked threatening throughout.
The Belgian international scored twice against Swindon Town at the weekend and based on his pre-season form to date he could be vital for Everton next season…provided he is still there, of course.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Everton fans thought of Mirallas’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
