Everton defender Mason Holgate has taken the acclaim of the Goodison Park faithful, after he put in another brilliant display last night.
Holgate has been a mainstay in Everton’s central defence since Sam Allardyce took charge, and his potential has been clear to see.
The youngster may still be learning the game, but he has looked rock solid when called upon recently.
Holgate has helped Everton pick up 10 points from the 12 available to them in Allardyce’s four matches in charge, with the Toffees’ backline tightening up significantly.
Everton have conceded just two goals in their last four matches, and won 3-1 against Swansea City last night to move up to 10th place in the Premier League table.
And Everton fans were purring over the display of Holgate, with some suggesting he has the ability to become a captain of the club in future years.
Allardyce has brought momentum back to Everton now, but faces a tough test on Saturday, when his side host Chelsea at Goodison Park.
