Ademola Lookman was left out of Everton’s squad on the opening day of the Premier League season.
Lookman was not even on the Everton bench at the weekend, during their 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
And when quizzed about Lookman’s absence, Silva simply confirmed it was his decision.
He said of the £11 million signing (BBC Sport): “Not injured. My decision.”
While some Everton fans are disappointed that Lookman hasn’t been given more of a chance, others feel as if Silva has it right.
There has been reports suggesting that Lookman wants a move away, and some Everton fans are keen not to see the youngster given a chance until he proves his commitment.
If Lookman does move on from Everton this summer, his most likely destination seems to be Red Bull Leipzig.
Leipzig took Lookman on loan last term, and the Everton youngster was highly impressive during his time in Germany.
