According to Sky Sports, Everton are set to appoint Marcel Brands as their new technical director later this month, and Toffees fans believe this is the beginning of the end for Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce is under significant pressure at Goodison Park, with the bulk of Everton fans wanting him gone at the end of the season.

There has been no official line from the club on Allardyce’s future.

However, Everton supporters believe that the links with Brands suggest that Allardyce’s days are numbered, as it is unlikely that the former England boss will want to work with the technical director.

Sam Allardyce looks on from the stand during the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Brands’ appointment could also spell the end for Steve Walsh, who is currently in charge of transfers at Everton.

And it is fair to say, judging by the initial reaction, that Everton supporters would not be disappointed to see ether depart.

Everton have had a disappointing campaign so far, and currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League table.
