Is the Arsenal striker heading to Everton after snubbing them last summer? According to reports, yes.
According to The Sun, Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants to bring Arsenal striker Lucas Perez to Goodison Park.
The 28-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates, having started just two Premier League games last season following a £17 million switch from Deportivo La Coruna.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger pipped his Dutch counterpart to the signing of Perez last summer, with the hitman opting to join the North Londoners, who had Champions League football at the time.
He netted seven times in all competitions for Arsenal – including a hat-trick against Basel in the group stages of the Champions League – but Everton fans don’t fancy the prospect of seeing him on Merseyside, based on the snub back in August.
Perez is a half-decent striker, but Everton will need to set their sights a lot higher if they are tasked with the challenge of replacing Romelu Lukaku this summer.
The big Belgian, who netted 25 Premier League goals last time around, is once again being linked with a switch away, and the Toffees could struggle to keep him this time.
The Arsenal man simply is not in that league, though Koeman should be handsomely compensated and will have plenty of money to recruit a top-draw replacement.
