Everton have reportedly identified Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina as a potential replacement for Idrissa Gueye.

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react to the reports from Sky Sports this week suggesting that the Toffees are now interested in Mario Lemina as Southampton attempt to offload the midfielder this summer.
The Toffees go into the final stages of the transfer window looking for a replacement for Idrissa Gueye with the Senegal international looking set to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
And Sky Sports has claimed that one of the options that Marco Silva is keen on is Lemina, who is also attracting attention from the likes of Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Lemina appears to be heading for the St Mary’s exit having played no part in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s pre-season preparations. Sky Sports reported that the Saints are keen to move the former Juventus man on this summer – and it seems that Merseyside could end up proving to be his destination.

The reports have attracted a fairly positive response from the Toffees supporters on social media. Lemina has shown glimpses of his quality since arriving in the Premier League, and some of the Everton fans feel that Silva will be able to get the best out of him if he does move to Goodison Park.
There is some concern about the prospect of Lemina replacing Gueye. The former Aston Villa man leaves huge shoes to fill, and some have questioned whether the Southampton star would be up to the challenge. Others however, are extremely confident that he can step up.
