However, Everton supporters find the rumour hard to believe, as they feel that Marco Silva and Marcel Brands would demand a much higher fee for the midfielder.
Gueye has played a key role at Everton this season, and his departure would leave Silva having to look for a new central midfielder.
With Andre Gomes’ future still not secured, Everton could potentially face the task of replacing their entire central midfield if Gueye was to depart too.
Gueye and Gomes have created a strong partnership, so losing them both would be a blow to Silva’s side.
Everton are currently ninth place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against already relegated Fulham.
