David Moyes made his name at Everton, and fans have been having their say on his Sunderland departure.
Sunderland manager David Moyes
David Moyes’ spell at Sunderland conveyed the passion of an undertaker for the past season, and it was no surprise to see him resign yesterday.
The BBC reported that Moyes quit the Black Cats 24 hours after the final game of the season, a 5-1 loss at Chelsea.
Moyes made his return to English football last summer after being sacked by Manchester United in 2014.

Brought in at Old Trafford as Sir Alex Ferguson’s hand picked replacement, he was a colossal failure and the Red Devils are still recovering from his disastrous tenure.
A spell in Spain followed with Real Sociedad which culminated in his sacking, and he looked a shadow of his former self at Sunderland.

Gone was the passion and confidence he displayed at Everton, instead there was a man who knew his side were doomed and failed to inspire belief that they could ever drag themselves out of it.
At Everton, Moyes was a big success on a shoestring budget, and his consistency there helped earn him a shot at the Manchester United job.
In 2013, Moyes was rightfully regarded as one of Britain’s most promising managers.
Now after his first relegation, he is seen as one who needs a long break out of the game to re-discover his mojo.
Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to his Sunderland departure with a mixture of emotion…
