Everton fans made their feelings for the Scot perfectly clear on Twitter.
The Mirror reported on Monday that David Moyes is one of nine managers to be interviewed for the Everton job.
The Toffees are hunting a new manager following the sacking of Roberto Martinez a little earlier this month.
Plenty of names, such as Frank de Boer and Manuel Pellegrini, have been thrown around but, according to The Mirror, Moyes’s name is also on the shortlist.
The Scot left the Merseyside club in 2013 to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in what proved an ill-fated nine-month spell in charge of the Red Devils.
The 53-year-old has also since been sacked by Spanish outfit Real Sociedad, and has recently been linked to Aston Villa and Celtic jobs, before Brendan Rodgers was appointed at Parkhead in the last few days.
Nevertheless, Everton fans have made it perfectly clear that they do not want Moyes, previously at Goodison Park for a whole 11 years, back on the blue half of Merseyside.
Moyes, at one stage, was adored at Everton, transforming the club from perennial underachievers to a team regularly battling for European football, but things went sour after he quit in 2013.
Still, he may not be remembered fondly, but few can argue that he was not, in fact, a brilliant football manager at Everton.
Perhaps Everton peaked too soon under Martinez, who guided the club to a fifth-placed finish in his first season, but successive 11th-placed finishes means the Toffees were perhaps going backwards.
