Sunderland boss David Moyes has claimed that he could have won the league at Everton with another striker.
Everton fans appear to be fed up of David Moyes making comments about them, following his statement that he was just one striker away from winning the Premier League during his time at Goodison Park.
Moyes told The Guardian that Everton would have been title contenders, had he had the funds to spend on a new forward.
He said: “We had a great team at Goodison but we were missing a centre-forward. We couldn’t get the finances to buy one in my last couple of years.
“I might be exaggerating but I think, with a top centre-forward, we would have been close to winning the league; we were that good.”
Moyes spent 11 years in charge of Everton, and he was credited for doing an excellent job at Goodison Park.
Moyes guided Everton into the Champions League, but the Merseyside club’s supporters appear to feel his latest claim is exaggerated.
Moyes has had a lot to say about Everton since leaving, and judging by Twitter their fans have had enough of his comments.
Moyes will be plotting Everton’s downfall later this evening, when he takes them on with his new Sunderland team at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are still looking for their first win of the season, while Everton are unbeaten so far.
