The Toffees and Turkey striker has been on the fringes of the Premier League club’s first team under Marco Silva.

Everton striker Cenk Tosun has reiterated that he plans to fight for a first-team place at Goodison Park and surprisingly admitted that the Premier League club wanted to keep him in the squad this term despite opening himself up to a loan move to return stronger.
Signed by Sam Allardyce from Besiktas in last year’s January transfer window in a deal reportedly worth £27m (Liverpool Echo), the Turkey international began brightly, scoring five times in 12 starts for the Merseysiders.
However, Tosun has fallen out of favour under current Toffees manager Marco Silva, starting just nine Premier League games this season and finding himself on the bench and not utilised for the Toffees’ last two league games.
Earlier this year, the Liverpool Echo claimed that the Toffees had placed a £20million price tag on the 27-year-old, who has scored eight goals in 39 appearances for the club, and were willing to offload him if any clubs interested can meet their valuation.

Speaking to Turkish website Sabah, however, Tosun made clear his intention not to simply throw in the towel, saying: “I have still a lot to do in the Premier League. I still have a three-and-a-half-year contract with Everton.
“I want to continue in Europe. My aim is to play more. I had offers from Spanish and English clubs. I told the club I am ready to go out on loan to return stronger, but they told me they needed me here.”
