Everton lost 3-1 at home to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Everton slipped to their first defeat under Marco Silva as they were beaten 3-1 by West Ham United at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Toffees went into the game unbeaten this season whereas West Ham were without a win or even a point under Manuel Pellegrini, but the form book was turned on its head.
West Ham went in front when Marko Arnautovic ran on to a ball over the top and squared for Andriy Yarmolenko to score, with Jordan Pickford woefully exposed.
Pickford then showed rare poor distribution, which resulted in Yarmolenko cutting in on his left foot and bending the ball into the top corner of the net, beyond Pickford.
Gylfi Sigurdsson’s header from a Jonjoe Kenny cross did give Everton some hope before half time, but Arnautovic wrapped up the scoring by finishing off Pedro Obiang’s pass.
Everton fans were understandably disappointed with the performance, but if there was one bright spark from the game, it may well have been playmaker Bernard, who came on as a first-half substitute for Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Brazillian – signed on a free transfer on deadline day – has been ushered in slowly and was making his Goodison Park bow on Sunday, and showed real potential in a busy performance for a struggling Toffees side.
Everton fans took to Twitter to comment on the diminutive midfielder’s performance, with one fan praising him as ‘special’ and many others claiming that he was the only bright point in a dismal afternoon, calling for him to play more often after a strong showing.
