Everton fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Axel Witsel’s performance for Belgium against Wales on Friday evening.
Witsel featured in the Euro 2016 quarter-final tie at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. The 27-year-old midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Belgium were favourites to win the 2016 European Championship quarter-final tie, but it was the Dragons who emerged victorious.

Wales staged a stunning 3-1 comeback victory to book their place in the semi-finals of the prestigious competition.
Witsel took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 92%, won 80% of his headers, and made four interceptions, one clearance and two blocks.
Everton have been linked with a move for the Belgium international midfielder in the summer transfer window.
As reported by Gianlucadimarzio.com, the Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder’s father and agent, Thierry Witsel, has told Radio CRC that the Toffees have a concrete interest in the 27-year-old.
