Everton’s recent recruitment of Anton Donkor went relatively under the radar, with the 19-year-old signed on loan from Wolfsburg.
It was a deal similar to one which saw them sign David Henen previously before adding the Belgian permanently, but Donkor has made a far more immediate impact.

Donkor made his debut last night in an under-23 game against Manchester United, and helped the Toffees to a 3-1 win.

Donkor linked up well with another bright prospect, Bass Sambou, who signed from Coventry City last summer.
Sambou netted two goals, with Donkor providing an assist, looking lively and causing Manchester United’s talented young guns real problems.

Everton will want to see more of him over the coming months before putting in a bid if they want to sign him permanently, but last night was an encouraging start.
Donkor’s performance was encouraging for supporters and even brought questions over whether he could get to feature for the first team soon.
