Ademola Lookman gave Everton fans something to smile about on a difficult afternoon for the Toffees as they were beaten by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Marco Silva’s men are now without a win in four games as two goals from Gabriel Jesus and another from Raheem Sterling helped City to a 3-1 victory. It was Dominic Calvert-Lewin who scored the Toffees’ goal in the second-half.

It may have been a defeat, but Lookman seemed to give Silva something to think about heading into Sunday’s clash with Tottenham. The winger came on with just over half an hour remaining and looked bright.

Whoscored reports that he completed three successful dribbles out of three. No player on either side completed as many as the youngster, while he also found a teammate with seven of his eight passes.

The 21-year-old is looking for only his second Premier League start of the campaign, and many supporters believe that he deserves that opportunity after performing well against Pep Guardiola’s side.

The £11 million signing (via BBC Sport) did not impress when he did make the starting lineup in the recent draw with Newcastle, but several fans on social media have suggested that he needs a run of starts to show what he is fully capable of after a difficult spell with the Toffees.
