Everton fans have been heaping praise upon Aaron Lennon on Twitter after his performance in the Toffees’ impressive victory over Swansea that moves them up to ninth in the Premier League table.

Sam Allardyce’s men went into the game against the Swans having won three of their previous four games to move themselves well away from the bottom three in the top flight.

It appeared that their run may be in danger of being brought to an end when Leroy Fer gave the visitors the lead 10 minutes before the break, but Lennon played a crucial role in ensuring that Everton went into the interval all square.

The winger managed to win a penalty that was saved before Dominic Calvert-Lewin tucked home the rebound. A stunning goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson put Allardyce’s men in front in the second-half, before Wayne Rooney made up for missing from 12 yards in the first-half by rounding off the 3-1 victory from the spot with just under 20 minutes to go.

Lennon’s display has received a lot of praise on social media, with many crediting the winger’s presence as the reason that right-back Jonjoe Kenny is able to prove so influential right now.

The 30-year-old had struggled to make an impact over the last couple of seasons, but his recent form just shows that he still has a lot to give for Allardyce’s men. And the fans appear to be delighted about that.
