Everton have completed a move for Andre Gomes.
Everton have completed the permanent signing of Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes.
Gomes spent the season on loan at Goodison Park from Barcelona and quickly became a fan favourite.
At Barcelona he was never accepted by the supporters and his confidence dipped. Everton fans quickly took to him and have been eagerly awaiting his transfer.
Everton’s official Twitter account teased fans before announcing the deal.
Getting Gomes in on a five-year deal is great business for the Toffees.
The fee of £22 million is also excellent value in the 2019 transfer market.
Gomes said: “I’m really happy to sign the contract with Everton – it wasn’t hard to decide, it was an easy decision and I’m very happy to have made it.
“I know the club made a massive effort to sign me and I’m very happy and thankful to them. I said during the year that I felt part of a family and that is the most important thing to me.”
Gomes, 25, made 24 Premier League starts for Everton last season.
