The Everton midfielder is recuperating from a serious ankle injury suffered in the Premier League weekend game at Goodison Park.

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to thank Bryan Oviedo for his heartfelt message to Andre Gomes following the Portuguese’s serious injury at the weekend.
Gomes suffered a fractured dislocation to his right ankle during Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw between the Toffees and Tottenham at Goodison Park.
A statement by Everton on Monday – as quoted by BBC Sport – said surgery “went extremely well” and Gomes, who has been released from hospital, is “expected to make a full recovery”.
Oviedo, who was on the Goodison Park outfit’s books between 2012 and 2017, was sidelined for eight months after suffering a double leg fracture in an FA Cup fourth-round clash with Stevenage.
The Costa Rica international expressed his sorrow at the sad and painful news of Gomes’ injury, wishing him the best in his recovery, and drawing from his own experience to comfort the 26-year-old by telling him the club and fans will support him at all times.
Everton forward Cenk Tosun scored a 97th-minute equaliser to earn a point for Marco Silva’s side after Dele Alli’s second-half opener at Goodison Park.
