Everton are reportedly plotting a bid for Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof.

Everton fans have been reacting on Twitter to the reports that emerged from the Daily Mirror over the weekend which suggested that Marco Silva has included Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof on his summer wishlist.
Silva is building towards his first season at the helm at Goodison Park, and sorting out a defence that boasted the worst record in the Premier League’s top eight this past season is surely going to be a priority for the Portuguese.

Both Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka are starting to show signs that they are past their best, and Michael Keane endured a fairly torrid first year at Goodison Park.
But unfortunately for Silva, his reported preferred target has not gone down well with the Everton fans. The Daily Mirror reports that the Toffees are keen on the Swede who cost £31.5 million before enduring an extremely disappointing first season as part of Jose Mourinho’s side.

The Mirror adds that Everton are considering a £35 million bid for the 23-year-old, but United are unlikely to consider selling Lindelof as they would prefer to give him another season to prove that he can make the grade at Old Trafford.
And it appears that a number of Everton fans will be delighted that a deal for Lindelof looks unlikely. The centre-back – who earns £120,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – did struggle this past season, and it seems that many Toffees supporters are not convinced that he would be a good addition this summer, especially for the fee that United may be looking for.
There has been some support for a potential pursuit, but it seems that Lindelof would have plenty to prove if a deal did take place this summer. Here is the best of the reaction…
