Everton fans will be hoping for some big signings this summer having fallen short of European qualification this season – and Ajax’s David Neres is a popular name.
The Toffees couldn’t secure seventh place in Marco Silva’s first season in charge, but their strong end to the season means fans are optimistic about next term.
Silva will need more reinforcements to crack the top seven, and adding another winger should be a priority, with a left-footer needed for some balance.
One name linked recently is Ajax ace Neres, with The Telegraph claiming that director of football Marcel Brands wants to land him in a £35million swoop.
Neres, 22, hit 12 goals and 15 assists for Ajax this season, playing a key role in their Eredivisie title win and their run to the Champions League semi-finals.
The speedy Brazilian is attracting major interest, but for now, he’s off with his country preparing for Copa America – alongside Everton ace Richarlison, with the Toffees ace posting a photo together this morning.
Everton fans have bombarded Richarlison with comments, telling him to make sure that Neres signs for the Toffees this summer, joking that he’s ‘agent Richarlison’ whilst telling Brands to take a look at the pair together and announce a move.
