Everton fans react as club reportedly interested in Gelson Martins

The Toffees are reportedly keen on Sporting winger Gelson Martins.

Everton are reportedly tracking Sporting Lisbon star Gelson Martins this summer as Marco Silva and Marcel Brands look to put their stamp on the Toffees squad – and Everton fans have reacted with delight.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim 23-year-old Martins is just one of three Sporting players that Everton are keeping their eye on. He is the latest to be linked with Goodison Park, along wit Bas Dost and William Carvalho.

Martins, a 17-time Portugal international and currently with his national team ahead of this summer’s World Cup, has starred this season in green and white.

He has scored 13 goals from the right flank, as well as providing the same amount in assists, which has led to plenty of Premier League clubs becoming interested in his signature.

The Toffees boast plenty of options out wide, including Yannick Bolasie, Nikola Vlasic, Theo Walcott, Ademola Lookman and Gylfi Sigurdsson, but Martins would surely outweigh them all.

Everton fans reacted with delight to the news that the club were interested in signing the fleet-footed wide man, with the majority urging the club to complete a deal to sign the Sporting star.
