Everton are reportedly trying to sign Mancini this month.

Everton are reportedly weighing up a move to sign Atalanta defender Gianluca Mancini but face big competition in the form of AS Roma and Inter Milan – and Everton fans are excited at the prospect of signing the Italian.

The Mirror have claimed that the 22-year-old is a target for Everton as well as the Italian sides after scoring five goals from centre-back in just 17 league and cup appearances this season.

Mancini is renowned for his physical frame and aerial prowess, which makes him a threat from corners and set-pieces. He has even scored against one of his interested parties – Inter.

The centre-back’s form has been so impressive, that he was even called up by his namesake Roberto Mancini to the senior Italy side. However, he was left on the bench for the friendly against USA in November.

Mancini has a contract at Atlanta until the summer of 2023, but a move to the Premier League or one of Italy’s biggest sides in Roma and Inter may prove to tantalising to ignore.

Everton fans reacted to the news that their club may consider a summer move to land the rock-solid centre-back, with many excited at the prospect of the up-and-coming defender.
