Andy Gray has told BeIN Sports that Everton duo Oumar Niasse and Cenk Tosun are not good enough for the Merseyside club after they lost 3-1 to West Ham United – and some Toffees fans agree with the former Blue.

January signing Tosun, who cost the club a whopping £27million (Telegraph) from Besiktas under Sam Allardyce’s reign, played 69 minutes of Everton’s loss to West Ham – being replaced by Niasse.

West Ham went 2-0 up inside the first 30 minutes thanks to a brace from new signing Andriy Yarmolenko on his first Premier League start for the Hammers. Gylfi Sigurdsson scored in first-half injury time to reduce the deficit.

But Marko Arnautovic made the win for West Ham complete with a goal on the hour mark. Former Everton star Gray reacted on BeIN Sports by claiming both Tosun and Niasse are not good enough.

“Tosun isn’t good enough. Oumar Niasse isn’t good enough, not at this level. When I talk about this level, I’m talking about top half of the Premier League. Those boys are not good enough,” Gray said.

Turkey international Tosun has struggled this season, making six appearances in all competitions, failing to score a single goal for Marco Silva’s side. Niasse remains behind Tosun in the pecking order.

Everton have only won one of their five Premier League games, with the loss to West Ham coming as their first defeat of the season. They will be looking to put that run right on Sunday, as they travel to north London to face Arsenal.

Some Everton fans reacted on Twitter to Gray’s comments on both Tosun and Niasse, the latter costing £13million from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2016 (BBC Sport). Supporters agree with Gray, despite the duo costing a combined £40million.
