Everton fans have not taken too kindly to a comment made by Ross Barkley on Idrissa Gana Gueye’s latest Instagram post.
Gueye wrote: “Time to join the national team with @oumarniassebaye”, who was pictured beside his Everton teammate.
And Barkley, who controversially quit his boyhood club for Chelsea in January, was among those to respond, posting: “All the best lads”.
However, even though Gueye replied “thanks Rosco”, a number of Everton fans weren’t quite so grateful for Barkley’s message.

Many Everton fans turned on Barkley after his planned August move was delayed by four months, a decision which they believe cost the Toffees – who trained the midfielder from the age of 11 – around £20 million in lost earnings.
The 24-year-old – who eventually left Goodison Park for a reported fee of around £15 million – made his final Everton appearance in May last year, and has played little more than 130 minutes of football for Chelsea so far, owing to yet another hamstring injury.
