One such player is goalscorer Lookman, who has been on the fringes of the Everton side under Ronald Koeman so far this term, and has yet to make a Premier League appearance.
The former Charlton Athletic youngster, who joined Everton in January of this year, scored a superb goal against Spurs, picking the ball up on the right hand side before driving infield and hammering a left-footed strike into the back of the net.
Everton posted a video of the goal on Twitter, and given the side’s poor attacking showings so far this season, many fans responded by calling for 19-year-old Lookman to be given a chance.
Supporters sent messages asking just how Lookman isn’t being picked for the first team right now, urging manager Koeman to look at the pace and drive he showed in his goal against Spurs, and ultimately offer him a chance to solve Everton’s attacking problems.
