Premier League stalwart Leighton Baines will stay at Everton for another season.
It wouldn’t be a surprise for the Everton fans to hear that Leighton Baines is a pretty popular figure at the club and the defender has just extended his stay at Goodison Park.
Everton confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that Baines has penned a one-year deal at the club as he is about to embark on his 13th season on Merseyside.
The left-back has been an underrated figure in the Premier League during this past decade, and without a doubt, one of the best signing the club has made.
Even though Baines’s game time was reduced last season, mainly down to the arrival and form of Lucas Digne, he will still play a huge part for Marco Silva’s side in the Premier League next season.
The Goodison Park faithful were delighted and ecstatic at that news as they will be aiming for European football next term following their top-eight finish last time out.
Whilst Baines won’t play every week, he will be a key figure off the field of play, and when Silva calls him into the first-team, his experience is going to be valuable.
During the years, Baines has been one of the best left-backs in England, and one of the best performers outside the players in the Champions League.
