Everton are reportedly set to sell Ademola Lookman to RB Leipzig.
Everton fans are hoping for major reinforcements this summer, but are set to see an exciting young player leave Goodison Park.
Winger Ademola Lookman has failed to ever really settle with the Toffees, after signing from Charlton Athletic in January 2017.
The 21-year-old managed just three league starts under Marco Silva last season, making an additional 18 substitute appearances as he notched two assists and no goals.
Last summer, Lookman wanted to leave Everton for a permanent move to RB Leipzig. After all, he excelled with the Bundesliga side during a 2018 loan spell, notching five goals and three assists in 11 games.
After struggling for playing time last season, Lookman’s future has been up for debate once again, and he’s now set to move on.
The Liverpool ECHO report that Everton are set to sell Lookman to RB Leipzig, and the Daily Mail report that the fee involved is around £22.5million – double what the Toffees paid for him.
Lookman has huge potential, and some Everton fans have been taking to Twitter over the last week to urge Marcel Brands and other key decision makers to put a buy-back clause in the deal.
Those fans look set to be disappointed, as there have been no claims of such a clause being inserted, with Everton instead seemingly just cutting ties with Lookman and allowing him to go – despite the notion that he could be worth massive money in the future.
