Everton fans happy to let Wayne Rooney go, pleased to be getting a fee

Everton are said to be on the verge of selling Wayne Rooney to DC United this summer.

Everton fans largely seem to be behind the idea of selling Wayne Rooney this summer.

The Daily Mail claim that the Everton forward is a transfer target of DC United.

Rooney could now head to America, as his career comes to an end.

And many Everton fans would not be too disappointed to see Rooney depart for a second time.

Rooney was only brought back to Everton last summer in a £10 million move from Manchester United, but the switch hasn’t been a great success.

Rooney has shown flashes of quality, but his form in 2018 has been poor.

The 31-year-old has struggled badly for goals this year, and with Everton looking to reduce the numbers in their squad, it could be that Rooney is forced to make way.

In total, Rooney has made 40 appearances for Everton this season, scoring 11 goals and claiming three assists.
