Everton have an option to make the West Ham United forward’s loan deal permanent.
Everton’s Enner Valencia
Everton fans are debating whether or not the Toffees should pay West Ham United’s asking price for Enner Valencia.
The Hammers are said to want under £12 million for the Ecuador striker (Liverpool Echo), who has scored three goals and made another two in 20 appearances since he arrived at Goodison Park on loan last summer.
It was previously claimed that Everton would have to pay £14.5 million to make Valencia their player, but despite having made a positive impression on the majority of Blues, many are seemingly unconvinced despite the potential saving.
Here is what those of an Everton persuasion are saying so far:
West Ham paid a reported £12.75 million to sign Valencia from Pachuca in 2014 (Transfermarkt), however the 27-year-old has struggled to live up to expectation in London, scoring or making 18 goals in 72 appearances.
Having said that, the Hammers are not exactly inundated with attacking bodies, which could see Valencia given a chance to impress his parent club should Everton pass up their option to sign him permanently.
